SAMANTHA HASTINGS

Samantha Hastings is a Freelance Theatre Designer and Stylist, currently based in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. Sam graduated the Victorian College of the Arts in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Costume Design and Construction for Theatre.
Upon graduating from the VCA Sam has worked throughout Theatre, Film, TV as well as Bridal. Some credits include standby assistant / stylist on the Soap Opera “Neighbours” as well as resident designer for the Melbourne indie theatre company “Bloomshed”.
In 2021 Sam began her collaboration with Bloomshed, working alongside the contemporary company to design Set & Costumes for their new works (Animal Farm, Paradise Lost, Dodgeball Named Desire, Earnest & Pride and Prejudice). In 2022 Sam’s work for Paradise Lost won  a Green Room Award for Best Set & Costume Design for a New Independent Theatre Work. 
Sam’s expertise across Theatre Design, Film, Television, Fashion & Bridal have led her to be involved in the development of creative projects with throughout these fields. Sam’s most recent works include: Anouk van Dijk’s contemporary dance piece Surge, Tyran Parke’s musical “Our House”, Bloodshed’s  “Animal Farm”, “Paradise Lost” (winner of Best Set & Costume Design), & “Dodgeball Named Desire” (winner of Fringe’s Most Innovative in Theatre & Sydney Fringe Award), Beth Paterson’s new work “Niusia” , Fred Pryce’s fringe show “Alison goes to Aldi for her Aunt” and countless designs for episodes of “Neighbours” throughout 2022 & 2023.
